Hi everyone,

Today I’m participating in a fun hop to celebrate Altenew’s February 2022 Islands in Space Collection Release. I’m excited about this release because it features NEW artist markers plus coloring sheets to play with your new markers! You’ve probably arrived from the sweet Erum Tasneem. Welcome to my blog! Below are the new Artist Markers, Space Garden and Island Garden! Which one do you like the best?

My first card uses the Garden Space Artist markers and my alltime favorite stamp by Altenew, Wallpaper Art.

Masking was required for this one layer stamp. First step was to stamp the larger flower using permanent crisp black ink. This ink is the go-to one for alcohol markers because it won’t bleed with them! Then I masked the flower and stamped the smaller one next to it. Then I masked that flower and continued stamping the leaves around it until I was happy wiht the layout. When I removed the mask, the flowers looked like a natural cluster! Next, I colored them with my Garden Space Artist markers. These markers are DREAMY! They glide on so smooth and blend beautifully together! When my coloring was finished, I added a sentiment and sprayed Iridescent Shimmer over everything for a touch of purple shine. I finished with a few clear sequins.

Next card was colored using the same Artist markers and a page from the Whimsical Flower Bunch coloring sheets! These coloring sheets are filled with a variety of designs that cater to all styles! They are pre-cut to A2 size, so no need to trim them unless you want to do so!

I focused on the brown and yellow shades for the window, flower pot, and shutters. Then I went back in with the green and purple shades for the flowers. Since these flowers are tiny, rather than layering color onto each flower, I used the lightest colors for the flowers up front and the darker colors for flowers tuckked behind. A couple flowers had two colors to them, but I kept it very basic. This technique with smaller items will still give the illusion of depth, but your ink won’t bleed outside of the lines! This was so easy and fun to color!

My last card uses the Island Garden Artist Markers and another page from the Whimsical Flower Bunch Coloring sheets.

These flowers just screamed to be in bright, spring colors so I knew that the Island Garden markers would be perfect! I did some easy layering with the blending shades that come with these sets – did you know that Altenew creates their artist markers in the same way as Crisp Die inks? The guess work is taken out for you, so all you have to do is grab your markers and color! When my coloring was finished, I added a sentiment and one embellishment over the large flower.

I’m so glad you joined me today for Altenew’s February 2022 Islands in Space Collection Release! You will love these new colors, perfect for your spring cards! Next on the hop is Nathalie DeSousa. Remember to stop by everyone on the hop and leave some love so you can enter to win a prize!
