Today I’m participating in a fun blog hop for the Altenew Mighty Kind Stand Alone Dies Collection release! We are giving away $300 in prizes too! You’ve probably arrived from Bridget Casey, welcome to my blog! To start at the beginning of the hop, click here.
This release is filled with dies for every occasion. I especially love the sentiment dies! You can make a quick card with bold sentiments like the one below!
This card uses the Simple Shapes and Way to Go die set! I started by die cutting the Simple Shapes with mirrored black cardstock. I placed it over Poured Acrylic patterned paper by Altenew and then added a few of the positive pieces of the die back into place. Next I worked on my big, bold sentiment.
The word Way to Go is a 2 layered die, so the top layer was done using white cardstock, and the bottom layer was done with vellum. Before adhering the top layer to the vellum, I did some ink blending with Coral Berry and Ruby Red to create an ombre look. Once that was finished, I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder to give it some glossy shine. I did the same with “You Rock” die. I placed them over the card base and was finished!
Here is another simple card with a bold sentiment from the Be Kind die set.
This is also a 2 layered die, which I love because there are so many ways you can use them! For this card, I started with a white base that was dry embossed with Linked Ovals and placed over a white card base. Next I worked on the die.
I die cut the top layer of Be Kind onto a bright blue inked panel and adhered it over the 2nd layer, which was done with vellum. Next, I adhered that over white foliage from the Flowing Foliage die set. I love how the entire card is white with exception to the sentiment!
Next up, using Alpha dies to create a focal point.
This card was so simple it should be illegal! I die cut the word Hello Baby onto patterned paper using Mighty Alphabet die set. These are thin, long alpha letters that are PERFECT for creating a focal point!
I adhered the dies over a white dry embossed card panel. The embossing folder I used is called Ribbon Waves. This card will go to my future grandson who is due to join our family in December!
Last but not least, a card using one of the floral dies from this release!
This beauty uses the Rose Queen die set. I ink blended the positive pieces with Frosty Pink, Coral Berry and Ruby Red. I adhered the white negative piece over a white, dry embossed card panel, inserted the ink blended positive pieces, and added the sentiment.
Thanks for staying with me I hope you found some good ideas to make quick cards using sentiment dies as a focal point! Next up on the hop is the amazing Ishani.
